Cultural Advisor (Arabic / English)

Deployment Location: Al Dhafra Air Base, United Arab Emirates

Salary: $110,000 to $120,000 annually

Security Clearance: Active SECRET Clearance Required

About the Opportunity
Vancro is seeking experienced Cultural Advisors to support U.S. Air Force operations at Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE. Cultural Advisors serve as trusted advisors to senior military leadership, helping strengthen partnerships with the United Arab Emirates military through cultural expertise, relationship building, and professional language support. This position requires professionals who possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of Middle Eastern culture, and advanced Arabic and English language proficiency. Successful candidates will deploy overseas following pre-deployment processing in the Washington, DC metro area.

Responsibilities
โ€ขAdvise U.S. military leadership on Emirati culture, customs, traditions, and government processes.
โ€ขBuild and maintain professional relationships with UAE military and government counterparts.
โ€ขProvide accurate Arabic-to-English and English-to-Arabic interpretation, translation, and transcription.
โ€ขSupport high-level meetings, key leader engagements, and official events.
โ€ขAssist with immigration, customs, logistics, contracting, medical coordination, engineering, and operational activities as assigned.
โ€ขProvide cultural briefings to incoming military personnel.
โ€ขCoordinate with host nation agencies to facilitate mission success.
โ€ขRespond to emergent operational requirements and crisis situations when required.
โ€ขMaintain accurate records, reports, and administrative documentation in support of assigned organizations.

Minimum Qualifications
โ€ขActive U.S. SECRET Security Clearance.
โ€ขU.S. Citizen.
โ€ขModern Standard Arabic proficiency of ILR 3+ (or equivalent) in both speaking and reading.
โ€ขFluent English communication skills.
โ€ขValid U.S. Passport.
โ€ขValid U.S. Driver's License.
โ€ขAbility to obtain an International Driver's Permit.
โ€ขEligible to obtain required UAE visas and base access.
โ€ขStrong understanding of Emirati culture and regional customs.
โ€ขAbility to work effectively in a military environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting one or more of the following:
โ€ขU.S. Department of Defense
โ€ขU.S. Department of State
โ€ขMilitary advisory missions
โ€ขForeign military engagement
โ€ขInterpreter or linguist operations
โ€ขCross-cultural training
โ€ขHost Nation liaison activities
Previous overseas deployment experience is highly desired.

Work Schedule
โ€ขStandard duty hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
โ€ขCandidates must be available for occasional after-hours support, emergencies, and crisis response in accordance with mission requirements.
โ€ขDeployment is to Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE.
