About the Opportunity
Vancro is seeking experienced Cultural Advisors to support U.S. Air Force operations at Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE. Cultural Advisors serve as trusted advisors to senior military leadership, helping strengthen partnerships with the United Arab Emirates military through cultural expertise, relationship building, and professional language support. This position requires professionals who possess exceptional interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of Middle Eastern culture, and advanced Arabic and English language proficiency. Successful candidates will deploy overseas following pre-deployment processing in the Washington, DC metro area.
Responsibilities
โขAdvise U.S. military leadership on Emirati culture, customs, traditions, and government processes.
โขBuild and maintain professional relationships with UAE military and government counterparts.
โขProvide accurate Arabic-to-English and English-to-Arabic interpretation, translation, and transcription.
โขSupport high-level meetings, key leader engagements, and official events.
โขAssist with immigration, customs, logistics, contracting, medical coordination, engineering, and operational activities as assigned.
โขProvide cultural briefings to incoming military personnel.
โขCoordinate with host nation agencies to facilitate mission success.
โขRespond to emergent operational requirements and crisis situations when required.
โขMaintain accurate records, reports, and administrative documentation in support of assigned organizations.
Minimum Qualifications
โขActive U.S. SECRET Security Clearance.
โขU.S. Citizen.
โขModern Standard Arabic proficiency of ILR 3+ (or equivalent) in both speaking and reading.
โขFluent English communication skills.
โขValid U.S. Passport.
โขValid U.S. Driver's License.
โขAbility to obtain an International Driver's Permit.
โขEligible to obtain required UAE visas and base access.
โขStrong understanding of Emirati culture and regional customs.
โขAbility to work effectively in a military environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting one or more of the following:
โขU.S. Department of Defense
โขU.S. Department of State
โขMilitary advisory missions
โขForeign military engagement
โขInterpreter or linguist operations
โขCross-cultural training
โขHost Nation liaison activities
Previous overseas deployment experience is highly desired.
Work Schedule
โขStandard duty hours are generally Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
โขCandidates must be available for occasional after-hours support, emergencies, and crisis response in accordance with mission requirements.
โขDeployment is to Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE.
