The Oasis at Death Valley is situated in a lush, spring-fed desert oasis, surrounded by the vast and arid desert of Death Valley National Park. The Oasis operates the historic AAA Four Diamond Inn and Ranch, restaurants, gift shops, and the world's lowest elevation golf course. Both hotels are open year-round and feature swimming pools fed by naturally warm local springs.

We're hiring a Houseperson to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

Job Summary:Clean the resort's public spaces, lobbies, and public restrooms. Stock Housekeepers cleaning carts, linen/cleaning closets, and assist Housekeepers as needed.

The Details:Position Type: Full-time year-round or SeasonalStart Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks)Pay: $17.20Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Clean public lobbies, restrooms, and other guest use areas as assigned.
  • Maintain cleanliness of housekeeping vacuums, closets, storage areas, and other equipment.
  • Deliver linen, glassware and amenities to and from guest rooms.
  • Comply with proper biohazard clean up procedures.
  • Assist with other housekeeping duties as assigned by the Manager, Assistant Manager or Supervisor
Qualifications
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • The ability to follow instructions and count accurately.
  • Being capable of self-supervision.
  • Knowledge of carpet and floor care and proper use of equipment (training may be provided).
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability to answer guest questions and give appropriate guidance.
  • Making beds, stripping rooms, and cleaning toilets.
  • Working with required chemicals up to 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to work at night and possibly over-night hours and shifts.

Physical Requirements include:

  • Stretching, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and climbing up and down stairs for up to 7-8 hours per shift.
  • The ability to push or pull 50-75 pounds on a daily basis.
