A leading NYC general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support the delivery of public sector design-build projects across the five boroughs. This role will work closely with PMs, field teams, and design partners to coordinate fast-paced, compliance-driven construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Client Details This established NYC general contractor specializes in public agency and institutional construction projects, including transit, education, and municipal work. The firm has a strong track record delivering design-build projects for major agencies, with a reputation for managing complex coordination between design teams, field operations, and regulatory requirements. Description Support Project Managers on design-build public works projects (MTA, SCA, DASNY, etc.) Coordinate between architects, engineers, consultants, and field teams Track RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and change orders throughout construction Assist with scheduling, cost tracking, and procurement of materials Review drawings and ensure alignment between design intent and field execution Help manage project documentation, logs, and reporting Support coordination of inspections, permitting, and agency compliance requirements Participate in project meetings, coordination calls, and site walkthroughs Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation Identify coordination issues early and help drive resolutions MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
