Overview

The WeCARE Physician in the role of Review Physician supports the Medical Director in the implementation of standard operation policies and procedures to ensure that UBA WeCARE complies with all New York City's HRA contractual requirements.

Work Schedule
  • Hybrid schedule: 1-2 days remote, 3-4 days in-office
  • Monday through Friday; no weekends or holidays
Responsibilities
  • Conduct medical review of Clinical Assessments/Clinical Reassessments for finalization.
  • Perform Medical Assessments in accordance with NYC HRA (funder) protocols and procedures.
  • Complete Wellness Plans dispositions for UBA WeCARE clients.
  • Act as clinical support for UBA WeCARE Federal Disability staff and other UBA WeCARE staff in the fulfillment of funder, (NYC HRA), contracted goals.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree (MD) required.
  • Current, unrestricted New York State license to practice medicine required.
  • Board Certification from the American Board of Medical Specialties or the American Osteopathic Association required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in medical or clinical practice required.
  • Experience working with NYC HRA.
  • Knowledge of the Social Security Administration (SSA) disability application process.
Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to engage, assist, and motivate clients to comply with the WeCARE process.
  • Ability to help clients access services and reduce barriers to appointment compliance.
  • Knowledge of medical and behavioral health diagnoses.
  • Proficiency with software systems such as SEAMS, Epic, PSYCKES, and Microsoft Office applications.
