The Nutrition Services Program Supervisor is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating nutrition-related programs and initiatives designed to improve food security, nutritional health, and overall well-being for older adults throughout the ElderSource Planning and Service Area. This position serves as the subject matter expert on nutrition and healthy aging and provides leadership for nutrition-focused projects, contracted nutrition services, community partnerships, and innovative initiatives that address food insecurity, malnutrition risk, and health disparities among older adults.
The Nutrition Services Program Supervisor oversees contracted nutrition services providers, supports compliance with federal and state regulations, develops community partnerships, identifies and pursues opportunities to address food deserts and hunger among older adults, and leads nutrition-related special projects including the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and the NourishAble Assistive Eating Devices Program.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
I. Nutrition Program Leadership
A. Provides leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for ElderSource nutrition programs and initiatives.
B. Serves as the agency's nutrition subject matter expert regarding nutrition, food security, healthy aging, malnutrition prevention, and chronic disease management.
C. Develops and implements innovative nutrition programs that support older adults and caregivers.
D. Monitors trends, emerging practices, legislation, and funding opportunities related to nutrition services and aging.
E. Evaluates program outcomes and develops recommendations for continuous improvement.
II. Contracted Nutrition Services Oversight
A. Serves as the primary point of contact for contracted providers on matters related to food and nutrition.
B. Provides training, technical assistance, and guidance to nutrition service providers.
C. Assists with monitoring provider compliance with Department of Elder Affairs requirements, Older Americans Act regulations, contractual obligations, and ElderSource policies and procedures.
D. Assists with desk reviews, site visits, monitoring activities, and quality assurance reviews related to nutrition services
E. Reviews provider performance data related to nutrition services and recommends program improvements and contract amendments as necessary.
F. Assists with nutrition services procurement activities, grant applications, contract development, renewals, and amendments related to nutrition programming.
III. Food Security and Hunger Mitigation Initiatives
A. Leads efforts to identify and address food insecurity among older adults, with particular emphasis on underserved communities and food desert areas.
B. Analyzes demographic, geographic, and service utilization data to identify nutrition gaps.
C. Develops collaborative partnerships with food banks, grocery retailers, farmers, community organizations, healthcare systems, and local governments.
D. Recommends and implements strategies to improve food access and nutrition equity for older adults.
E. Identifies funding opportunities, grant initiatives and partnerships that promote nutrition security and healthy aging.
IV. Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program
A. Oversees planning, implementation, and evaluation of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program and similar food access initiatives.
B. Coordinates outreach, education, enrollment, and distribution activities.
C. Builds and maintains relationships with participating farmers, markets, community partners, and governmental agencies.
D. Monitors program compliance and reporting requirements.
E. Tracks program outcomes and participant satisfaction.
V. NourishAble Assistive Eating Devices Program
A. Leads the development, implementation, and expansion of the NourishAble Assistive Eating Devices initiative.
B. Assesses opportunities to improve nutritional outcomes through adaptive equipment and assistive technologies.
C. Collaborates with caregivers, healthcare providers, occupational therapists, and community organizations to identify participant needs.
D. Develops educational materials and training related to adaptive dining solutions and nutritional support.
E. Evaluates program effectiveness and participant outcomes.
VI. Community Education and Outreach
A. Develops and delivers nutrition education presentations, workshops, and trainings.
B. Represents ElderSource at community meetings, conferences, health fairs, and other public events.
C. Promotes nutrition awareness and healthy aging initiatives through community engagement activities.
D. Cultivates partnerships that strengthen community-based nutrition supports.
VII. Reporting and Compliance
A. Prepares required reports for leadership, funding agencies, and external stakeholders.
B. Maintains documentation and records in accordance with funding and regulatory requirements.
C. Assists with preparation for state and federal monitoring activities.
D. Supports agency compliance with Older Americans Act nutrition requirements and related federal and state regulations.
VIII. Emergency Preparedness
A. Assists in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery efforts related to nutrition services and food access for vulnerable older adults.
B. Coordinates with providers and community partners to ensure continuity of nutrition services during emergencies.

Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition Sciences, Public Health Nutrition, or related field required. Active licensure as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN/RD) preferred. Minimum of three to five years of experience in nutrition program administration, community nutrition, public health, aging services, healthcare, or related field. Experience with food security initiatives, nutrition services management, grant-funded programs, and community partnerships preferred.
