Job Summary:

This is a Dual Role 1st Shift 16 Hours/Week Team Lead 16 Hours/Week Nutrition Asst Stock Clerk for a total of 32 Hours/Week
To receive, inspect, process, stock and store all food items and food supplies in a safe, secure and sanitary manner for the Nutrition Services Department.
Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background.

Job Description:

Receiving:

  • Inspect, monitor quality and verify quantity of food and supplies received against purchase order and vendor invoice.
  • Document discrepancies on order and notify Lead Cook or Chef Manager of corrections needed.
  • Compare invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.

Storage:

  • Date, store and rotate stock using the first in- first out (FIFO) method for food and supplies.
  • Maintain clean shelves, racks, floors and ceilings of all storage areas.
  • Assure all stock is maintained at the appropriate level by restocking cases and shelves as needed to assure adequate inventory levels of each product are displayed to avoid lost sales from product shortages.
  • Follow stock rotation compliance guidelines to assure distressed and close dated product is removed

Trash Removal:

  • Empty trash, cardboard and recyclables collection bins in dumpster according to schedule.
  • Break down boxes and clean bins as needed.

Cleaning:

  • Perform janitorial tasks such as cleaning equipment and work surfaces, mopping, sweeping and trash disposal.

Communication:

  • Maintain communication with Lead Cook, Chef related to receiving and inventory control.

Quality:

  • Compliance with all local, state, federal and medical center regulatory, safety, sanitation and security standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

  • High school diploma or GED

Specialized Knowledge:

  • Customer service, computer skills, organizational skills

Kind and Length of Experience:

  • 1 year food service experience

FLSA Status:

Non-Exempt
