Banyan Treatment Centers is seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Registered Dietitian to support the nutritional health and overall wellness of patients within our inpatient behavioral health, mental health, and substance use treatment programs. This role focuses on developing individualized nutrition plans, promoting healthy lifestyle habits, and supporting recovery through evidence-based nutritional care.
Position Details:

  • Reporting To: Director of Operations
  • Schedule: Contracted, to be determined.
  • Location: Laurel Run, PA (On-site)
Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Enhancement
    • Deliver High Quality meals
    • Seasonal 5 week cycle for 3 meal periods
    • Incorporation of fresh farm to table produce from local vendors
    • Customizable menu items: burger bards, deli stations, MTO stations
    • Action Stations
    • Patient Meal ordering services
    • Client Surveys providing feedback
  • Nutritional Services
    • Nutritional analysis for all menu items available to patients, staff and family members
    • Increased nutritional value incorporated into all meals
    • Nutritional marketing and educational materials available and displayed on facility electronic screens
    • Provide personalized menus for any special needs diet based on previous or current medical conditions
  • Managerial Skill
    • Develop an ordering system that captures optimal food cost
    • Oversee current kitchen staff and determine skill set
    • Provide staff training to ensure safety and quality of food are ideal
    • Develop a food production tracking system
    • Ensure accurate inventory is taken monthly
  • Presentations/Education
    • Bimonthly nutritional and wellness presentations to current patients
    • Residential cooking classes to ensure life skills upon discharge
    • Educate patients on budget shopping focusing on healthy choices.
    • Nutritional Counseling offered as part of aftercare
Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics required, Masters preferred
  • Licensed Nutritionist preferred
  • Compassionate and caring demeanor
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
