Job description

Registered Nurse RN Unit Manager

We are seeking a Registered Nurse RN Unit Manager to join our skilled nursing team! Our facility features a fast paced sub-acute and long term care units. The primary role of the Unit Manager is to assist the Director of Nursing/ADON in developing and directing the functions of the given Nursing Unit in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as adhering to the policies and regulations of the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is delivered at all times.

Responsibilities for a Registered Nurse RN Unit Manager

  • Monitor licensed and unlicensed nursing staff in delivering quality care to each resident
  • Ensure that nursing staff follows policy and procedures, including appropriate dress code
  • Attend and participate in morning clinical review meeting
  • Review 24- hour resident change in condition report daily and correspond with DON on changes in treatments as necessary
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA rules and regulations on unit, reporting any known violations to the Administrator and DON
  • Assist the DON/ADON with preparing performance evaluations as directed.
  • Greet new admissions and families and assist nursing staff with admission process as needed
  • Ensure that all admission documentation is complete in a timely manner
  • Monitor medication distributions and treatment schedules to ensure that medications are being administered as ordered and that treatments are provided as scheduled
  • Provide direct nursing care as necessary ETC

Qualifications for a Registered Nurse RN Unit Manager

  • Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing as an RN
  • At least 1 year of Supervisory Experience
  • Experience in Long Term Care
