Job description

Under the direction of the Lead Faculty and theย Chief Nurse Administrator engages in the duties and responsibilities of as nursing faculty including teaching, advising, grading, preparing syllabi, clinical practicum supervision/teaching, preparing/administering examinations and other associated duties and responsibilities that may be required by the University from time to time. DE MSN Faulty will ensure compliance with the Massachusetts Board of Nursing Registration (MABORN), American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and other professional standards and guidelines.

These duties and responsibilities must be carried out in a professional and competent manner and in accordance with the policies, practices, and timelines of the University.

A successful candidate should be academically and experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected program and student learning outcomes.ย 

This position is a non-tenure, full time position with quality oversight and teaching responsibilities specific to the Direct Entry Master of Science in Nursing Program.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In collaboration with the Lead Faculty and Chief Nurse Administrator (CNA) build and maintain the curriculum from a foundation of core courses into increasing depth and breadth of academic and clinical application.ย  Engage in continuous quality improvement of the DE MSN program through the systematic program evaluation plan at the course, curriculum, and program levels. Teach during the academic year didactic and clinical components of the DE MSN program as assigned. Coordinates lab and clinical schedules with affiliate partners and uses all relevant systems (e.g., CCP). Collaborate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies for congruency with university policies-ensuring any differences are justified by nursing program goals and outcomes. Ensure students are in compliance for practicums by reviewing clinical requirements in the established system (Castle branch).ย  Ensure to maintain all licensure, clinical and university requirements.ย  Attend trainings and continuing education as required and provided.ย  Engage in shared governance of BPU engaging in nursing education committee meetings, School of Health and Natural Sciences Meetings, and university wide committees/meetings.

Perform any other duties or tasks as assigned by the University.

Requirements:

  • A MSN degree is required.
  • Earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, DNA, DNP) in nursing or related field required.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered license, as a Registered Nurse in territory of practice required.
  • Current, active, and unencumbered license a Registered Nurse in territory of practice required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and networking skills.
  • An ability to work in a team environment.
  • Leadership, project management, analytical and strategic skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task, use good judgment, work in a vibrant academic environment and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient computer and data management information systems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all members of the University community including students, faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and within FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • All new employees must complete the FERPA, Anti-Harassment, and any other required online trainings within 15 days of employment.
  • General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
