Registered Nurse (RN) (UGSC)

Qualifications for a Registered Nurse
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of professional nursing experience in a hospital surgical suite preferred.
  • Must possess a State Registered RN license.
  • CPR and ACLS certification preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform general nursing care to patients. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and company policies.
  2. Prepare equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  3. Observe, record and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physician.
  4. Greet patients and prepare them for physician examination. Screen patients for appropriate information. Complete patient history.
  5. Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls. Instruct patients and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  6. Maintain and review patient's records, charts and other pertinent information.
  7. Maintain exam rooms for necessary supplies and materials. Ensure cleanliness.
  8. Prepare list of medical supplies needed.
  9. Maintain correct inventory levels of supplies and medications.
  10. Develop and perform patient education.
  11. Complete and discuss pre-op procedures with patient.
  12. Give injections.
  13. Clean and sterilize instruments and other materials.
  14. Tray set-up for examination and surgical procedure.
  15. Maintain strictest patient confidentiality.
  16. May also be called upon to provide technical training and guidance to MA, LVN and perform special projects for Physician.
