Job description

Position Title: Nursery Manager
The Nursery Manager role is essential in overseeing daily operations and ensuring a high level of customer service. This position requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage inventory and labor while fostering a positive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in retail management and plant knowledge, enabling them to meet the diverse needs of customers. Challenges include maintaining optimal staffing levels during peak seasons and managing product orders efficiently. A commitment to teamwork and customer satisfaction is crucial for success in this position.
Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00 / Hour DOE
Nursery Manager Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations and staff management
  • Manage inventory and product ordering based on seasonal demands
  • Ensure high levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Conduct weekly buyers calls for plant knowledge
  • Perform annual inventory with the main office team
  • Schedule staff in line with labor goals

Nursery Manager Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of retail management experience with a focus on team leadership and independent ordering
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in plant and nursery operations
  • Ability to answer questions regarding seasonal plants, sun vs. shade plants, and watering needs
  • Proficient in inventory management and capable of analyzing past reports to anticipate needs
  • Experience managing labor percentages based on store requirements
  • Physical capability to lift 100+ pounds and remain active for extended periods
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required
