Now Hiring: Nursery Manager

Lead the Department. Drive Standards. Grow the Business.

We are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and hands-on Nursery Manager to lead daily operations within our nursery department. This position is responsible for overseeing plant care, merchandising, inventory management, customer experience, and team leadership while maintaining a high standard of presentation, organization, and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate is someone who understands nursery operations, can confidently lead a team, and takes pride in creating a department that is both visually impactful and operationally strong.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily nursery department operations
  • Manage and direct nursery staff, delegate tasks, and maintain productivity standards
  • Ensure proper watering, plant health, pruning, fertilization, and overall plant care practices
  • Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked nursery displays and sales areas
  • Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering, and manage incoming shipments
  • Ensure accurate pricing, signage, and merchandising throughout the department
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance to customers regarding trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and nursery products
  • Train, coach, and support team members to improve performance and consistency
  • Assist with loading products and supporting customers as needed
  • Maintain safety standards and ensure equipment and work areas are properly maintained
  • Work closely with leadership to drive sales, seasonal transitions, and department performance

Qualifications

  • Previous nursery, greenhouse, garden center, or horticultural management experience required
  • Strong knowledge of plant material, nursery operations, and plant care practices
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to motivate and direct a team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 25โ€“75 lbs and remain active throughout the workday
  • Availability to work weekends and seasonal peak business periods
