Job Overview
The Nursery Director is a vital role in the life and ministry of St. Paulโs. Working in partnership with the clergy and Director of Family Ministries, the Director will oversee all elements of our ministry with the youngest members of our congregation. This includes Sunday morning care, monthly Parentsโ Night Out, regular weeknight formation (such as Alpha and Lenten Soup Suppers), and various other occasions throughout the year. The Nursery Director will work to recruit, train, and schedule additional nursery staff and volunteers in order the meet the demands of our growing parish. St. Paulโs welcomes numerous families with special needs, and the Nursery Director will work in with other staff and volunteers to maintain an inclusive environment for all.

Responsibilities
ยทย ย ย ย ย Leads the team whenever the nursery is expected to be open (Sunday mornings, PNO, week-night formation, other occasions)
oย ย In-person presence is required for this position, though some administrative work (i.e. scheduling) can be done remotely.
oย ย Arrange for alternative leadership when absent (3 Sundays off per year, coordinated with supervisor).
oย ย Train up senior staff to be team-leads, both for Sunday and non-Sunday opportunities
ยงย As this is accomplished, the non-Sunday opportunities can be delegated more freely.
oย ย Maintain sanitary and organized nursery equipment and rooms.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Nursery Staff Supervision
oย ย Recruit, train, and schedule a full complement of staff
oย ย Schedule nursery staff as needed and bi-weekly approval of hours worked within the online payroll system
oย ย Coordinate background checks, Safe Church training, and CPR trainings with Parish Administrator
oย ย Review and update St. Paulโs Nursery Policies and Procedures (2011 edition) as needed
oย ย Review and train staff on Emergency Procedures, including evacuation and active shooter protocols
ยทย ย ย ย ย Proactive communication with parents and families
ยทย ย ย ย ย Coordinate Parentsโ Night Out 1/month
oย ย Select theme, purchase supplies and snacks, set up
ยทย ย ย ย ย Ensures that the Nursery remains clean and well-stocked
ยทย ย ย ย ย Present and participates in:
oย ย Monthly supervision meetings with Rector/Associate Rector
oย ย Monthly Children and Family Ministry check-ins
oย ย Bi-weekly whole staff meetings (as available)

Qualifications
ยทย ย ย ย ย Demonstrated experience working with infants and children in church, educational, or other caring contexts
ยทย ย ย ย ย Specific training and education in early childhood education and development is preferred.
ยทย ย ย ย ย Infant/Child CPR certification required (St. Paulโs will cover the costs of certification/recertification)
ยทย ย ย ย ย Familiarity with Episcopal/Anglican identity is preferred
ยทย ย ย ย ย Bachelorโs Degree and supervisory experience preferred
Compensation and Hours
ยทย ย ย ย ย Approximately 8 hours of work per week
ยทย ย ย ย ย Salaried position, with compensation range based upon experience and qualifications
