Devereux Children’s Behavioral Health Center (DCBHC), located in Malvern, PA provides programs and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis within a safe and compassionate inpatient environment. Our Nurse Manager supervises the direct nursing staff, and daily operations of the nursing team within the program.

Every day as a Nurse Manager you will...

  • Ensure the safety and well being of the children in our care.
  • Act as a liaison and communicate with the psychiatric, medical and treatment teams.
  • Manage the center's nursing activities to assure the highest quality of nursing services.
  • Serve as a resource to the nursing personnel and the direct care staff to ensure comprehensive service provision and accurate documentation of care.
  • Oversee the development and ongoing management of the nursing schedule to maintain appropriate coverage while supporting fiscal accountability.

Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and  approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives.

Education Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and a valid license to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania required.  Master’s degree preferred

Experience Required: Three years (3) of nursing experience in a health care facility, preferably working with children and adolescents with developmental disabilities and/or psychiatric illnesses.  One year (1)of supervisory experience required.  Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office applications and data collecting/analyzing platforms. Outstanding organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task, to maximize efficiency.  Excellent oral and written communication skills. 

Valid driver's license must be maintained.
