What you’ll do

  • Disassemble and clean parts for rebuild.
  • Reassemble new or reconditioned parts.
  • Use of jib cranes, fork trucks, and overhead cranes-all training provided.
  • Bearing disassembly, cleaning, mounting, and assembly
  • Tube bending
  • Use of a torch
  • Use of measuring devices, calipers, mics, feeler gauges
  • Perform field service jobs with steel mills.
  • Routinely repair/maintain facility machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Blueprint reading-interpret drawings.
  • Complete inspection forms and related paperwork
  • Keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Perform daily clean up, removal of trash, coolant, oil, scrap, chips, etc
  • Work collaboratively in a Union environment.

What you’ll need

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Mechanic/Millwright experience in the Manufacturing Industry preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of mechanic-like experience preferred but not required.
  • Good working knowledge of mechanical tools.
  • Mathematics - knows basic shop math and other functions necessary for the job.
  • Blueprint reading - interprets drawings preferred.
  • Self-motivated to identify, analyze and independently work to find solutions to flow issues.
  • Ability to learn and understand critical processes and operations in assigned areas.
  • Must be able to show a high level of job-related documentation.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
