Alena Museum is a cultural place keeping arts nonprofit that produces original content to tell the stories of the African Diaspora and preserve our cultural identity in the face of gentrification.

JOIN US:

We are looking for a senior-level professional who can come on and grow with us as our Fund Development Director. In this role, you will support the high-level development of our organization through strategic planning, partnerships, fundraising, strategic networking, and resource management.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide nonprofit leadership for the expansion of resources, programs, and funds
  • Strategically advise the Exec. Director on how to apply org. resources
  • Develop and implement new financial models to grow annual income
  • Support financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting of assets and income
  • Support national expansion (cultural equity in new urban landscapes)
  • Inform the development of org. strategy, new services, and resources, and staff
  • Establish and manage relationships with funders, partners other stakeholders
  • Support the hiring, managing, and team-building efforts of staff
  • Develop and implement strategies for securing multi-year, national funding
  • Establish org. KPIs and system for tracking performance benchmarks
  • Co-leading our long-term vision and moving our creative models forward

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 6+ years of experience in Strategic Growth OR demonstrated impact
  • Knowledge of non-profit business models, and org practices.
  • Experience with cultural programming, and Black History.
  • Senior leadership experience, establishing and managing teams

BONUS:

  • Experience with cultural equity in real estate
  • Former founder of a business or organization
  • Demonstrable success with nonprofit fundraising
  • Effective at leading and inspiring a team of creative professionals
