Job description

Job Purpose

The Senior SHE Delivery Manager has overall responsibility for managing Safety, Health and Environment improvement activities to achieve excellence at all manufacturing, non-manufacturing and newly acquired sites within the Cluster. These sites include sourcing units, distribution centers, head offices, sales offices, R&D centers, and merchandizers. They will work with the North America SHE Director, the Global SHE teams and the Cluster Supply Chain leadership, to develop the Cluster SHE Strategy, the improvement plans and, support the deployment of Global SHE strategies to achieve sustainable SHE excellence by reducing injuries, illnesses and environmental incidents, as measured in the core KPIs.

They also have responsibility for leading several Community of Practices of SHE professionals and overseeing legal SHE compliance in the Cluster. They represent the SHE North America organization in UL Supply Chain and UL business forums.

Job Responsibilities

  • Deploy the global/cluster SHE strategy, policy, and standards in all sites, to achieve excellent and sustainable results.
  • Manage the SHE teams responsible to deliver Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental results.
  • Drive safety, health and environmental risk assessment in all sites and develop/implement appropriate controls.
  • Lead the implementation of UMS Safety & Environmental Pillar in close collaboration with Manufacturing Excellence team.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the Unilever behavioral safety program and support deployment in every site.
  • Support the application of Unilever guidelines and procedures for Management of Change (MoC).
  • Monitor legal compliance and compliance to Unilever standards, and ensure sites meet all local/national regulatory requirements and Unilever protocols, provide advice on national SHE legislation requirements & implement relevant procedures and policies.
  • Lead the implementation of SHE audits in the Cluster. Develop and deploy internal SHE audits and inspection systems, participate in audits of other Unilever organizations as required.
  • Work closely with Occupational Health personnel to identify and mitigate risks which may lead to occupational ill health.
  • Assist the North America SHE Director and the North America SC Leadership in leading and developing the internal incident management teams and central SHE committees.
  • Support leadership in serious and high-potential incidents investigation and analysis.
  • Support and lead the North America Safe Travel Committee and ensure compliance with safe travel standards, training, and reporting requirements.
  • Advise line management in all accident/incident investigations.
  • Conduct trend analysis from incidents, near misses and safe behavior observations.
  • Oversee professional SSHE skills in all countries and sites, determine training needs and assist in delivery of training programs and capability building plans.
  • Lead the community of practice of SHE professionals (manufacturing and non-manufacturing) to ensure sharing of best practice and effective communication to and from Cluster.
  • Oversee OS/EPR/SHE PAR/SHENet reporting within the cluster for accuracy and timeliness.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably within Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or other STEM related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years' experience within a SHE leadership capacity within manufacturing, preferably in a multi-site capacity.
  • Proven track record of analytical thinking, project management and stakeholder management
  • Proven success tracking & driving improvement for KPI's in areas including: TRFR, TRIR, DART, & LTIR.
  • Ability to travel 25% -50% or on average one - two weeks per month.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $119,400 to $179,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
