Information Technology Project Manager Position Summary

The IT Project Manager serves as the primary client-facing leader for the implementation of mission-critical healthcare imaging and clinical workflow solutions. In this role, you will drive the successful delivery of PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition, Worklist Management, Enterprise Imaging, AI, and image archive initiatives, translating complex technical requirements into measurable outcomes that enhance clinician productivity, system reliability, and regulatory compliance.

You will lead projects from discovery and planning through deployment, go-live, and ongoing optimization, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and internal stakeholders. Success in this position requires a blend of technical expertise, healthcare industry knowledge, strong project leadership, and executive-level communication skills. As the face of our delivery organization, you will be accountable for project execution, client satisfaction, and long-term partnership success.

This is a hybrid position based in Scottsdale, Arizona, requiring in-office collaboration four days per week.

Information Technology Project Manager Responsibilities Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle — from discovery and scoping through implementation, go-live, and transition to support.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with imaging directors, IT leadership, CMIOs, and clinical operations stakeholders.
  • Facilitate executive steering committee meetings, status briefings, and escalation resolution with clarity.
  • Translate technical findings and risks into business-level communication appropriate for non-technical healthcare audiences.
  • Proactively manage client expectations, scope, and satisfaction — resolving issues before they become escalations.
Project Delivery & Governance
  • Own full project lifecycle delivery across PACS, RIS, Voice Recognition, Worklist, Image Archive, and AI workflow engagements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, and resource schedules.
  • Coordinate cross-functional internal teams including infrastructure resources, PACS engineers, integration engineers, and clinical application specialists.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and budget with rigorous change control and transparent status reporting.
  • Facilitate go/no-go decisions, cutover planning, and production readiness reviews for high-stakes go-lives.
Technical Collaboration
  • Partner with IT resources to scope DICOM routing, HL7 integration, VNA architecture, and AI algorithm orchestration.
  • Facilitate clinical workflow analysis sessions to capture requirements for worklist configuration, reporting turnaround, and role-based access.
  • Coordinate third-party vendor activities including modality vendors, EHR/EMR teams, and AI algorithm providers.
  • Support validation and testing activities, ensuring clinical acceptance criteria are met prior to go-live.
  • Contribute to solution design reviews with a working understanding of interoperability standards and healthcare security requirements.
Compliance & Risk
  • Ensure all implementations adhere to HIPAA, HITECH, and applicable organizational security policies.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate project risks related to uptime, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support disaster recovery planning, business continuity validation, and security review processes.
  • Maintain complete and auditable project documentation throughout the engagement.
Information Technology Project Manager Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability
  • Solid technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in Enterprise Imaging
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Requirements Minimum Education and Experience
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of IT experience with 3 years in IT Imaging environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering PACS, RIS, or enterprise imaging projects in a customer-facing role.
  • Working knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent implementations in complex, multi-stakeholder hospital, imaging center or clinic environments.
  • Strong executive communication skills — comfortable presenting to C-suite and clinical leadership.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements and healthcare IT security frameworks.
