About the Job
 

This undergraduate student will help assist a UMN master's student in the field to describe outcrops and collect samples, which is necessary for safety reasons as it is unsafe to do fieldwork alone.

Job duties
Collect geologic field data (100%)

Required qualifications
BS or BA in geology in progress
Preferred qualifications 
course in sedimentology and stratigraphy

About the Department
 

Undergraduate research assistant will assist UMN master's student James Blount in the field near Dickinson, ND. The student will help to describe stratigraphy and collect rock samples in moderately remote areas. It will require camping and a moderate level of hiking to access rock outcrops while carrying equipment.
