Position Summary

The Transport Driver is responsible for safely loading, securing, transporting, and unloading heavy equipment using a tractortrailer rig. Deliveries and pickups are performed at customer sites, Quinn Company facilities, and supplier locations. This role requires adherence to safety regulations, accurate documentation, and flexible scheduling.

Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Maintain a valid California Class A Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and current DMV Medical Certificate
  • Properly operate company vehicles in compliance with DMV and DOT regulations
  • Participate in the U.S. Department of Transportation drug and alcohol testing program
  • Perform pretrip and posttrip vehicle safety and operational inspections
  • Complete daily routine maintenance and minor mechanical repairs as skill and time allow
  • Operate various equipment to load, secure, transport, and unload items safely
  • Use material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and cranes
  • Demonstrate basic equipment operation to customers when required
  • Use road maps and routing tools to ensure efficient and timely transportation
  • Maintain permits, bills of lading, invoices, and other delivery documentation
  • Maintain accurate and uptodate driver logbook records
  • Work a flexible schedule to meet company and customer needs

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of related driving experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid California Class A Driver's License
  • Current DMV Medical Certificate
  • Forklift operator certification preferred
