Job description

Fueliner, a family-owned Molo Company, is growing and looking to add a Professional CDL Driver to our transportation team.

About the Role:

This position requires meticulous attention to safety protocols and regulatory compliance to prevent accidents and environmental hazards. The driver is responsible for operating specialized tanker vehicles designed for fuel transport, maintaining vehicle integrity, and managing delivery schedules efficiently. Ultimately, the Fuel Transport Driver contributes to the company’s reputation for reliability and safety in fuel distribution services.

You will be hauling petroleum products to our customers in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. You will go to the terminal, fill your tanker and then head out to our customers for that day's deliveries. You will then stop at the customer and unload the correct fuel in the correct tank.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for tanker and hazardous materials (HazMat).
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations or accidents.
  • Demonstrated experience in operating heavy-duty vehicles, preferably fuel tankers or similar hazardous material transport.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening as required by federal and company policies.
  • Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance requirements related to fuel transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working as a fuel transport driver or in a similar hazardous materials transportation role.
  • Completion of specialized training programs related to fuel handling and emergency response.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices (ELDs).
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact professionally with clients and team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate fuel tanker trucks to transport gasoline, diesel, or other fuel products to designated locations safely and on schedule.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and tanker to ensure mechanical soundness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local regulations regarding the transportation of hazardous materials, including proper handling and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and other stakeholders to coordinate delivery times and resolve any issues that arise during transport.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, fuel quantities, mileage, and any incidents or delays encountered during routes.

Skills:

The Fuel Transport Driver utilizes their driving expertise and knowledge of safety regulations daily to ensure secure and efficient fuel deliveries. Their ability to inspect and maintain the vehicle helps prevent breakdowns and safety incidents on the road. Strong organizational skills are essential for managing delivery schedules and maintaining accurate documentation. Communication skills enable the driver to coordinate effectively with dispatch and customers, ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, problem-solving skills are important for addressing unexpected challenges such as route changes or mechanical issues promptly and safely.
