Job description

SUMMARY:

Klosterman has immediate job openings for dependable local CDL-A Delivery Truck Drivers to safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer and manually unload/deliver bread products to customer locations on an assigned route schedule. Our truck drivers build relationships with each customer using their positive, friendly attitude and become familiar with their operations to meet needs and expectations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must maintain a valid Class A – CDL license.
  • Must not acquire more than three moving violations in three years.
  • Must meet all Department of Transportation guidelines.
  • Must be able to back trailers in and out of docks.
  • Must be honest, respectful of others, and calm and patient in the face of adversity.
  • Must accurately track and record hours and complete required driving logs.
  • Must keep a record of fuel and truck repair purchases.
  • Must have good attendance.
  • Must be available to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications you’ll bring as a CDL-A Teammate:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL-A)
  • At least 2 year or 50,000 verifiable miles of tractor-trailer driving experience


RESPONSIBILITIES:

The transport driver is responsible for the day-to-day large deliveries where directed.

  • Inspect tractor-trailer for defects pre/post trip and submit DOT inspection report indicating condition.
  • Inspect bill of lading and store keys for accuracy in off-hour delivery.
  • Drive tractor-trailer to destination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skill in maneuvering vehicle on the road and on customer premises.
  • Maintain driver log according to DOT regulations, documenting delivery receipt, product temperatures and exceptions.
  • Unload trailer, delivering product into customer premises.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • The transport driver will operate at all destinations with the company goals of safe, quality food top of mind while achieving the delivery goals of Klosterman Baking Company.
