Job description

Phoenix-Talent School District #4 is seeking applications for the following Extra Duty positions:
ASSISTANT CROSS COUNTRY COACH - Talent Middle School

REPORTS TO:   Athletic Director/Building Administration
SALARY:  As determined by negotiated salary schedule
JOB DESCRIPTION:    Work with current coaching staff and student-athletes at TMS.   Support, supervise student-athletes at functions, offer training suggestions with head coach, help recruit participants, instruct student-athletes about rules, regulations and training guidelines. 
This position requires a commitment to fostering a supportive learning environment for all students. The successful candidate will demonstrate a dedication to ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed, recognizing and addressing barriers to academic achievement.











QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience coaching track or cross country preferred.
  • Experience as runner at high school level or higher.
  • Adheres to sports philosophy of Phoenix-Talent Schools.
  • Meet/ability to meet coaching certification requirements: FA/CPR, Concussion Training, Anabolic Steroid, blood-borne pathogen, etc.
  • Meet required driver's training for activity van usage.
  • Model high standard of behavior.
  • Must have a flexible work schedule to accommodate practices and matches.            

PREFERENCE   

  • May be given to those candidates who hold a valid Oregon teaching license.
  • May be given to those who are bilingual in Spanish and English.
