Varsity Cross Country Coach
Season: Late August - Early November
Position Summary:
Shoreline Christian School is searching for a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Cross Country Coach to lead and develop its cross country program during the fall season. The coach will provide instruction and mentorship to student athletes while helping create a positive, competitive, and Christ centered team culture. The ideal candidate will be committed to athletic excellence, character development, and the overall mission of the school.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all aspects of the varsity cross country program, including athlete development, team culture, and program management.
  • Maintain WIAA eligibility
  • Plan, organize, and hold practices and competitions throughout the season.
  • Supervise and support student athletes in a manner that promotes personal growth, accountability, and sportsmanship.
  • Ensure the cross country program aligns with the philosophy and objectives of Shoreline Christian School and the athletic department.
  • Model and cultivate strong sportsmanship and respect at all times.
  • Maintain compliance with all league, district, and school rules.
  • Manage the team's Athletic.net account, including roster, meet registrations, results reporting, and season updates.
  • Collaborate with the athletic department to support the success of the cross country program.

Qualifications
  • Previous coaching and/or competitive running experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high school student athletes.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, school staff, and community members.
  • Knowledge of cross country training principles, meet procedures, and athlete safety practices.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Shoreline Christian School.

Time Commitment
  • Season runs from late August through early November.
  • Availability for weekday practices, league meets, invitational competitions, and postseason events as applicable.
  • Participation in preseason planning and required athletic department meetings.
