Job description

Position Summary

Guided by our motto, โ€œDriven to Serve,โ€ the Vehicle Transport Specialist represents the dealership beyond our showroom walls by safely delivering vehicles and providing an exceptional customer experience across the country.

The Vehicle Transport Specialist is responsible for transporting and delivering vehicles to customers both locally and nationwide. This role plays an important part in the customer experience by ensuring vehicles are delivered safely, professionally, and in a timely manner while representing the dealership in a positive and professional manner.

This position may involve extended driving, transporting vehicles using approved company equipment, and overnight travel.

The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, customer-focused, and comfortable with both local and long-distance travel assignments.


ย Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Transport and deliver vehicles to customers locally and nationwide
  • Safely operate company vehicles, including pickup trucks and enclosed vehicle trailers, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws
  • Ability to safely tow and maneuver enclosed vehicle trailers using a quarter-ton pickup truck or other approved company vehicles
  • Follow assigned delivery schedules, routes, and instructions provided by management
  • Verify vehicle cleanliness, fuel levels, accessories, paperwork, and readiness prior to delivery
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment
  • Maintain accurate travel records, mileage logs, receipts, and expense documentation
  • Immediately report accidents, vehicle damage, delays, or maintenance concerns to management
  • Represent the dealership professionally during all customer interactions and travel assignments
  • Assist with vehicle staging, merchandising, and related dealership duties as needed

ย Travel Requirements
  • Frequent local and out-of-state travel required
  • Overnight and multi-day travel assignments may be required
  • Flexible scheduling, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary based on delivery schedules and customer needs

ย Qualifications
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with acceptable driving record required
  • Ability to safely operate pickup trucks, enclosed trailers, and various vehicle types required
  • Previous trailer towing experience preferred
  • Previous automotive, transportation, delivery, or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to travel independently and follow assigned schedules
  • Professional appearance and demeanor required
  • Ability to use navigation systems, mobile applications, and communication technology
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, and drive for extended periods as required by travel assignments

  • Must comply with all dealership safety policies and procedures
  • Must maintain insurable driving status under company insurance guidelines
  • Position may require successful completion of background screening and drug testing
  • Employee may be required to operate company-owned or customer-owned vehicles
