Light Duty Transport Driver
Position Summary
The Light Duty Transport Driver is responsible for picking up vehicles from private sellers who have agreed to sell their car to the company. This role involves traveling to customer locations, verifying vehicle condition, collecting payment and title documents, and safely transporting the purchased vehicles back to company property. The driver represents the company during every interaction and must maintain a high level of professionalism, accuracy, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
  • Travel to scheduled customer locations to pick up vehicles purchased by the company.
  • Verify vehicle identity (VIN), condition, and documentation prior to acceptance.
  • Collect cash payments, signed titles, and any required paperwork from the seller.
  • Provide receipts and ensure all documents are completed accurately.
  • Safely load, secure, and transport vehicles using company‑provided equipment.
  • Deliver vehicles to the designated company location or lot.
  • Maintain communication with dispatch, purchasing staff, and management throughout the process.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and state regulations regarding vehicle transport and title handling.
  • Conduct basic vehicle checks (fuel level, tire condition, battery, etc.) before transport.
  • Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of assigned company vehicle.
  • Report any issues, delays, or discrepancies immediately.
Qualifications
  • Valid “For Hire” or “Chauffeur” driver’s license required with a clean driving record.
  • 2 years relatable driving experience
  • Experience driving pickup trucks, flatbeds, or light‑duty transport vehicles preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and securely.
  • Basic understanding of vehicle titles and required documentation (training provided).
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Professional, reliable, and trustworthy demeanor.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. (documents, small equipment).
  • Ability to enter/exit vehicles frequently throughout the day.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to safely operate and secure vehicles during transport.
