Job description

The Coding Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely assignment and review of professional coding related to ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes for multi-specialty group.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please Note: UNLV Health does not provide employment sponsorships or sponsorship transfers for any positions.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Professional Coding Designation (CPC) or equivalent certification required
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, and CPT coding guidelines
  • Medical terminology; anatomy and physiology
  • Knowledge of payor guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to use a computer with Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills
  • Must be well organized and detail-oriented
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees and public

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • May include standing, sitting, and/or walking for extended periods
  • May include performing repetitive tasks
  • May include lifting up to 25 pounds
