CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Engineer I to join our Water Team in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you’ll support the planning and design of critical water, wastewater, and stormwater systems—gaining hands-on experience while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams. This is a great opportunity to grow your technical foundation, explore diverse infrastructure projects, and make a meaningful contribution from the start of your career.


  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for water/wastewater system rehabilitation projects
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for water/wastewater system optimization
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment, planning, and rehabilitation of water/wastewater systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus
