No Experience Developer information

What is a no experience developer?

A No Experience Developer is someone who is seeking to start a career in software development but has little to no professional experience in the field. These individuals often have learned programming through self-study, bootcamps, or academic courses, but have not yet held a formal developer role. Employers may hire No Experience Developers for entry-level or junior positions where they can learn on the job and gradually build their skills. This role typically involves tasks such as assisting with coding, debugging, and collaborating with more experienced developers. It is a great starting point for those looking to enter the tech industry.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a no experience developer?

To thrive as a No Experience Developer, you need foundational programming skills, basic understanding of software development principles, and a willingness to learn, often supported by self-study, coding bootcamps, or online courses. Familiarity with version control systems like Git, basic IDEs, and introductory programming languages such as Python or JavaScript is typically required. Strong problem-solving abilities, eagerness to learn, and teamwork make candidates stand out in this entry-level role. These skills and qualities are crucial for quickly adapting to new challenges, collaborating with teams, and building a successful career in software development.

What types of projects or tasks can a no experience developer expect to work on during their first few months?

As a No Experience Developer, you’ll typically start with smaller, well-defined tasks such as fixing simple bugs, updating documentation, or assisting with basic testing. These initial assignments are designed to help you become familiar with the codebase, development tools, and company workflows. Over time, you may progress to working on minor feature enhancements or collaborating on team projects under the guidance of more experienced developers. This gradual approach helps you build confidence and technical skills while contributing meaningfully to the team.

Job description

Rapid Application Developer (Low-Code / No-Code) Contract/Flex Worker Operational Excellence / Business Engineering / BI&A Location: Wilton, CT (On Site or Hybrid depending on project) Duration: Typically 6–12 months, extendable Role Summary Client seeks a Rapid Application Developer (Contractor) to deliver lightweight, secure, low?code/no?code applications using tools such as Microsoft PowerApps, Power Automate, Mendix, or equivalent platforms that meet IT security and governance standards. This contractor will translate loosely defined business needs into functional applications with minimal business context, focusing primarily on simple data capture UIs and workflow accelerations. This is a hands-on technical builder role, not a business analysis or enterprise architecture role. Key Responsibilities 1. Low?Code / No?Code Application Development Build, configure, and deploy applications using PowerApps, Mendix, or other Client?approved low?code platforms. (Aligned with Power Platform usage guidelines from Power-Apps.aspx.) Implement simple data capture UIs, forms, validations, and workflows with minimal business domain guidance. Deliver rapid prototypes and iterate quickly based on stakeholder feedback. Create reusable components, templates, and patterns for future solutions. 2. Data Integration & Technical Implementation Connect apps to approved enterprise data sources (SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, Excel Online). Ensure alignment with client’s security and data access restrictions (per Power Platform guidance). Implement logic, field-level validation, and error handling appropriate for lightweight apps. 3. Security, Governance, and Compliance Adhere to clients Power Platform governance boundaries (e.g., “green zone” citizen development scope defined in Power Apps Community Call March 2025.pdf). Ensure all delivered solutions meet IT security, authentication, and data loss prevention (DLP) policies. Work within Client’s tool?agnostic principles: PowerApps for M365?local data, Mendix for cross?platform needs. 4. Stakeholder Interaction (Minimal Context Required) Clarify requirements from BE Business Partners, Process Specialists, or Analysts at a high level. Propose technical solutions when user needs are loosely defined. Communicate risks, limitations, and decisions succinctly without requiring deep domain knowledge. 5. Delivery, Documentation & Handover Produce concise documentation (data models, UI layout, logic flows). Provide simple handover material and walkthroughs for internal owners. Support testing, refinement, and controlled deployment across environments. Required Skills & Experience Technical Skills Strong proficiency in low?code platforms: PowerApps (Canvas Apps), Power Automate Mendix (preferred but not required) Experience building structured forms, automations, and lightweight workflows. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 data sources and connector limitations. Understanding of Client?style governance, security boundaries, and DLP restrictions (inferred from Power-Apps.aspx) Professional Skills High autonomy and ability to deliver with minimal business direction. Strong communication with technical clarity and minimal need for escalation. Ability to work efficiently under contractor?style engagement expectations (time?boxed, deliverable?focused) Experience 2+ years in low?code/no?code development within enterprise environments. Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, or analytics environments is beneficial but not required. Engagement Model (Contractor?Specific) Deliverable-focused work with clear milestones or sprint?based iterations. Contractor expected to manage their own workload, timeline, and estimation. Client provides high-level requirements; contractor converts them into actionable technical tasks. Work may include multiple small applications or iterative enhancements to existing solutions. Compliance with Client IT onboarding, security, and platform access provisioning is mandatory.
