No Experience Camp Fly In information

What is a no experience camp fly in?

A No Experience Camp Fly In is a type of job placement or program where individuals are flown into remote camps, often for resource extraction or hospitality roles, without needing prior experience. These jobs are common in industries like mining, oil and gas, or wilderness lodges in regions such as Canada or Alaska. Employees are typically provided with transportation, accommodations, and meals while working on a rotational schedule (for example, two weeks on and one week off). The main advantage is the opportunity for entry-level workers to gain experience and earn competitive wages while working in unique, remote environments.

What can I expect from the onboarding process for a no experience camp fly in position?

For a No Experience Camp Fly In role, onboarding typically includes thorough orientation sessions covering camp policies, safety protocols, and daily routines. You'll often shadow experienced staff and participate in hands-on training to build confidence in your responsibilities, which may range from assisting with camp activities to helping maintain facilities. Most camps foster a supportive team environment, encouraging questions and teamwork as you settle in. While the pace can be fast during peak camp periods, mentors and supervisors are usually available to guide you as you gain experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a camp counselor with no experience, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Camp Counselor with no experience, you need enthusiasm, a willingness to learn, and a basic understanding of child supervision and safety. Familiarity with scheduling tools, activity planning templates, and basic first aid certification is often helpful. Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills set outstanding counselors apart. These qualities are crucial for creating a safe, engaging, and supportive camp environment for campers.

Job description

Help Girl Scouts dream big and experience all the outdoors have to offer.  Become a Summer Camp Volunteer today!!

Change-makers. Trailblazers. Explorers. We’re talking about Girl Scouts, of course, but we’re also talking about the people who become Girl Scout volunteers.  Our camps throughout Western New York would love your help in bringing our summer programs to our girls during the 2025 camp season.

During the summer, we offer a variety of ways Girl Scouts can experience the outdoors through our camp programming. By providing opportunities for girls to experience camp life on their own, we help in building girls in courage, confidence, and character.  We would love your help in bringing these experiences to our girls!

Our camps run from late-June through mid-August, and you are welcome to volunteer to join us for as many or as few days as you like.

Please do be aware that, by applying for this volunteer position, you are applying for an unpaid voluntary position with GSWNY.  If you are interested in paid positions, please check out the many available summer camp employment opportunities that we currently have available.

Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you!

PLEASE NOTE:  As you complete the volunteer application, this system is primarily set-up for employee applications.  Please simply mark any areas of the application that may not directly pertain to you as "N/A".
