Pay Range: $23 - $27 per hour

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Physical Therapy Operations Manager, the Front Desk PT Receptionist plays a key role in ensuring smooth operations by greeting and checking in patients and visitors, managing patient registration, scheduling appointments, and processing referrals. This position is responsible for gathering and entering patient demographics and insurance information into the EMR system, obtaining necessary authorizations, and maintaining accurate records for both new and returning patients. The Receptionist also handles various administrative tasks, including managing phone calls, ensuring proper documentation for therapy visits, and processing payments. By ensuring that patient needs are met in a timely and efficient manner, this position helps support the overall patient experience and clinic workflow.

Experience

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong computer skills, including the ability to type 45+ words per minute, with a general understanding of basic computer systems. EMR experience is preferred but not required, and familiarity with Microsoft applications is an asset. The candidate must be computer literate and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent telephone communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to perform basic mathematical functions, such as adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

A working knowledge of medical terminology is a plus, as is familiarity with efficient filing systems and office equipment. The candidate should be able to adapt to shifting priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through on tasks in a conscientious and efficient manner. The ability to remain organized and effective under changing circumstances is essential for success in this role.

Education
