The position provides technical leadership, collaborates across multiple engineering disciplines, and drives the development of innovative, scalable, secure, and reliable products that support industrial operations and digital transformation initiatives.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, debug, document, and maintain complex software applications and embedded systemsDevelop software for embedded Linux platforms, industrial controls, instrumentation systems, and IoT edge devicesLead software architecture, technical design reviews, and software development projects from concept through deploymentDesign, develop, and maintain modern web applications, user interfaces, dashboards, and data visualization tools for industrial and digital solutionsDevelop cloud-connected applications and services for remote monitoring, diagnostics, analytics, device management, and digital product offeringsDevelop algorithms for data acquisition, signal processing, analytics, artificial intelligence, and operational intelligence solutionsCollaborate with electrical, mechanical, controls, manufacturing, and product management teams to deliver integrated solutionsDevelop and implement AI-enabled capabilities that enhance automation, diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and operational efficiencyEnsure software quality through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, cybersecurity best practices, and engineering standardsMentor junior engineer(s) and provide technical leadership while driving continuous improvement, innovation, and product modernizationQualifications and SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline5+ years of professional software development experience, including technical leadership responsibilitiesStrong proficiency in C and C++ software developmentExtensive experience developing applications on Linux-based and embedded platformsExperience developing software for industrial controls, instrumentation, automation systems, IoT products, or edge computing solutionsStrong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skillsDesired knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/IP, MQTT, OPC UA, or similar technologiesDesired knowledge of AI/ML technologies and data analyticsDesired experience developing real-time, multithreaded applicationsDesired experience with modern web development technologies, including JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, CSS, React, Angular, Node.js, or similar front-end and back-end frameworksDesired experience with secure application development practices and cybersecurityDesired knowledge of developing full-stack web applications using databases, cloud platforms such as Azure or AWSDesired experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testingWho we are:Coperion ( www.coperion.com ) is a global industry and technology leader in process technology serving a variety of end markets, including plastics, plastics recycling, food, pet food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemical, battery, and mineral industries.
