Prep Cook

Do you have an eye for detail and a knack for organization? Do you thrive in a behind-the-scenes role that's crucial to the whole show? If you want to be a part of a team that's changing the way America eats one salad at a time, then you can be a Prep Cook for Chopt! Our Prep Cooks are the culinary masterminds that get all the pieces in place for our frontline team. Without you, the line would be missing its star ingredients, and the show couldn't go on.


Responsibilities:

      Prep, Prep, and More Prep! You'll be the ultimate prep pro, cutting, washing, and preparing a wide variety of fresh, high-quality ingredients for our busy salad line.

      The Mise en Place Master: You'll be responsible for the "everything in its place" principle, making sure every station is stocked with the right ingredients and supplies.

      A Wizard with Weight: You'll accurately measure and portion ingredients according to our recipes to ensure consistency and quality.

      A Food Safety Fanatic: You'll keep your work area clean, safe, and sanitized, always following food safety and sanitation protocols.

      The Supply Chain Guardian: You'll help with receiving deliveries and organizing inventory, making sure everything is stored properly and that we don't run out of our fan-favorite ingredients.

      All-Hands-On-Deck Attitude: We're a team, and that means being ready to jump in and help with other tasks like dishwashing or cleaning to make sure the kitchen runs smoothly.

      We're All Cross-Trainers! You'll have opportunities to learn different roles like Salad Maker and Food Runner to become a more well-rounded team member.


Qualifications/Requirements:

      Previous restaurant experience is required, experience working in high volume restaurant settings is preferred.

      Must be able to move with urgency and hustle to keep up with the demands of a high-volume kitchen.

      Must have strong knife skills or experience in preparing ingredients to minimize waste and ensure consistent product.

      Must understand and execute food safety and sanitation protocols and maintain a BOH that is compliant with all DOH regulation.

      Standing, stooping, kneeling, walking, wiping, reaching, bending, and lifting are required actions throughout a shift.

      Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Conditions/Hours:

      Hours will vary and may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

      All Chopt employees will be hired on a variable hour basis. Hours are scheduled based on performance and business necessities.
