Job description

The Inventory Coordinator position is responsible for overseeing and managing inventory control systems and procedures. This role ensures accurate inventory levels are maintained, coordinates procurement activities with suppliers, and implements efficient stock control processes throughout the facility. The position utilizes the PRISM system to maintain precise inventory records, while coordinating with multiple departments to support operational needs. Critical to this role is the ability to analyze inventory data, manage multiple priorities, and maintain effective communication channels with both internal teams and external partners.
Shift hours:
Monday-Friday
8am to 4pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages daily facility inventory operations which may include receiving, storing, and issuing parts, materials, and supplies

  • Maintains accurate inventory records using PRISM system, performing regular counts and reconciliations

  • Works with Purchasing to ensure timely procurement of parts and supplies through PRISM system

  • Organizes and maintains clean, orderly storage areas with proper tagging and identification of all items

  • Handles shipping and receiving functions, including processing returns and repairs

  • Conducts systematic inventory counts to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies

  • Communicates effectively with internal departments and external vendors via email and phone

  • Troubleshoots and resolves inventory-related issues through practical problem-solving

  • Maintains proper documentation and filing systems for all inventory transactions

  • Follows safety protocols and procedures while performing all duties

  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

  • Previous experience in printing industry a plus

Required Skills:

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities

  • Ability to read and use measuring tools accurately

  • Understand inventory systems and FIFO

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Basic computer proficiency including email

  • Ability to read and write detailed reports

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Effective communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Must pass pre-employment assessment

  • Drug screening required

  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems

  • Knowledge of chemical safety

  • Comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and procedures

  • Understanding of quality control standards and requirements

  • Familiarity with documentation and reporting systems

  • Knowledge of Equipment operation and maintenance

  • Effective verbal and written communication

  • Basic computer proficiency

  • Time management and organizational skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Record-keeping and documentation

Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Must be able to lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods

  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, and squat

  • Proficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills

  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)

  • Use of ladders and other equipment

  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacks

Travel Requirements: Travel is not required in this position.

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:

  • Noise levels above 85 dB

  • Operation of complex machinery

  • Solvents, fumes and inks

  • Variable Temperatures

  • Must be able to work flexible shifts at Newport News and Williamsburg locations

  • May require nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • An additional $2.50/hr premium for hours worked on NIGHT Shift only (qualifying hours vary by location).
