Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Controller - Operations Accounting.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Revenue Accounting:
    • Lead all revenue accounting activities for oil, natural gas, and NGL sales across Crescent's portfolio, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
  • Settlement and Distribution Accounting:
    • Own the review and analysis of oil purchaser statements, gas plant statements, residue gas settlements, NGL proceeds, pricing, deductions, transportation charges, royalties, and other ownership distributions to ensure the completeness and accuracy of recorded revenues and related owner payments.
  • Reconciliations and Accounting Close:
    • Oversee monthly reconciliations of revenue-related accounts, production and sales volumes, inventories, accounts receivable balances, and other key accounts while supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Accruals and Financial Reporting:
    • Manage the creation of revenue accruals, accrual-to-actual analyses, and variance investigation, to support accurate financial reporting and management reporting requirements.
  • Contract, Commercial, and A&D Support:
    • Develop an understanding of purchaser contracts, processing agreements, transportation agreements, and marketing arrangements while supporting acquisition and divestiture activities through due diligence, transition planning, and integration of acquired assets.
  • Leadership, Cross-functional Collaboration and Process Improvement:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing revenue accounting team.
    • Partner with production accounting, marketing, land, operations, commercial, and finance teams to resolve accounting issues, strengthen internal controls, support a scalable revenue accounting organization, and drive continuous process improvements.
    • Support owner audits and Owner Relations queries as appropriate.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics Required; Masters degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of accounting experience within the upstream oil and gas industry.
  • Experience with upstream oil, and/or gas and NGL revenue accounting function.
  • Understanding of purchaser statements, gas plant statements, revenue settlements, pricing, deductions, transportation agreements, and revenue accrual processes.
  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP or other major ERP system required.
  • CPA, CPA candidate, or APA designation preferred but not required.
