Summary:

Energy Transfer is seeking an NGL Truck Scheduler who will be responsible for optimizing the daily demands for ET internal and external customers while considering the availability of contract supply at various production facilities.  Make daily scheduling decisions to assure prompt product delivery with minimal outages or delays.  Provide special project analysis when required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

         Work with schedulers at production facilities, distribution terminals, and common carriers to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of NGL products. 

         Communicate daily with external customer base for changes to delivery schedules.

         Communicate daily with carrier base with schedule changes and fleet management needs.

         Work with ET Compliance personnel to assure that all deliveries made are with certified product and properly documented. Effectively communicate ET requirements for product quality to all carriers.

         Work with ET Regulatory personnel to ensure that all sites, carriers, and documentation is compliant. Troubleshoot and track down documentation as necessary.

         Work with carriers to assure that all drivers are properly trained and certified to enter required supply and demand facilities.

         On a daily basis, accurately analyze supply, customer inventory needs, and conduct load diversion/cancellations as necessary.  Project demand changes and adjust truck supply schedules per projected demand.

         Work with ET accounting group to assure that all loads are properly authorized, documented, and processed in a timely fashion.

         Work with Projecting Engineering on blend site startups as well as with Maintenance and Compliance when special delivery or product evacuation requires transportation assets.

         Work closely and daily with Manager, NGL Logistics to carry out the overall supply and transportation plan for NGL transportation services as developed and executed annually.

         Makes independent decisions on carriers selected to transport in their given area of scheduling responsibility.

         MUST BE available 24/7 via phone, text, and email during peak season mid-September through April and any other period when transportation scheduling is required.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

         Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience scheduling/dispatching trucks and/or rail.

         Minimum 2 years business experience with transportation or logistics industry.

         Petroleum industry experience a plus.

         Advanced computer skills (MS Excel required, SAP a plus).

         Strong analytical skills.

         Advanced communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written).

         Ability to independently establish priorities.

         Must be detailed oriented and possess leadership skills, a strong customer focus, and be team oriented.

         Must be extremely flexible and able to adapt quickly to changes resulting from an ever-changing logistical environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

         Candidates with experience in dealing with complex logistical movements involving truck and/or rail transportation in the petroleum industry.

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

         Usually, normal office working conditions.

         Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.

         Occasional overnight travel may be required.

         Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.

         Responsible for providing 24-hr on-call support for area of responsibility including weekends and holidays during the season and other periods when transportation scheduling is required.

Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

  • The Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 6 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Senior Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8 years of relevant job related experience
  • The Lead Specialist level requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and 8+ years of relevant job related experience
