Job Description

The Engineering Technician will provide support for Engineering and Operation roles in the Water Solutions business unit on a continual basis. The tech will analyze, plan, specify, develop, procure, maintain and enhance the various systems, and procedures and processes. This role will work with command center operations, engineering analysis, SWD field operations, pump design, and pipeline design.

Duties and Responsibilities (Essential functions are identified in bold and italicized text below.)

  • Must work safely at all times.

  • Perform accurate timekeeping in HR management system and submit on time per payroll deadlines.

  • Provide engineering and technical support to Operations Staff by ensuring applications and integrated systems work as expected.

  • Perform technical design, cost estimating, schedule development, data management, project coordination and technical document development.

  • Assign and direct technical work of others, including vendors and consultants.

  • Identify application issues or enhancement opportunities and coordinate with software development team to develop a software update and test plan.

  • Perform site audits.

  • Regular attendance to work is required.

  • Formulate models and provide engineering direction and support in the development and modification of existing systems, functions, applications, databases, processes, procedures and documentation in such a way as to maximize system accuracy, reliability and usability.

  • Work with Enterprise IT personnel to maintain the reliability and availability of system functions.

  • Support archiving and reporting tools used by other departments within NGL Energy.

  • Use technical expertise and creativity to develop and implement innovative solutions to complex problems that increase value delivered to NGL Energy operations and customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Deep expertise in Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition control system architecture and PLC programs.

  • Knowledge of a wide array of automation hardware, platforms, and tools.

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills and business acumen.

  • Skills in requirements analysis and project management.

  • Willingness to be available and work extended hours.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to be a positive representative of the Company both internally and externally.

  • Demonstrated ability to always work with respect and cooperation with fellow employees and customers.

Experience/Education

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required.

  • Exposure to the Oil and Gas industry is strongly preferred.

  • Valid driver's license is required.

Travel

Up to 15% travel required.
