Job description

*This is a Support-based position and you will need to be qualified for employment in the US.
Bridge City Church Residency
Thank you for your interest in the Bridge City Church Residency! Bridge City Church has a vision of becoming a multi-ethnic, multi-generational church, deeply transforming lives for the flourishing of all people. We long to see Heaven meet earth as we follow the Way of Jesus.
As a pastoral resident, you will work directly with the Lead Pastor as you progress through our residency. You will begin immediately engaging with content and praxis that equips and prepares you for high-level leadership in one of three specific contexts: (1) a Pastoral Ministry Context, (2) a Replanting Context, (3) a Church Planting Context.
In partnership with the Holy Spirit and how God has gifted and wired you, we will help determine over time your next steps internally and/or externally.
About the Residency
The aim of our residency is to raise up high character and high capacity Pastors and Church Planters who can influence God's people to accomplish God's mission for God's glory.
We will accomplish this with our three-prong approach. First is theological training and development. Second is practical ministry experience. Third is a thick relational connection with high level leadership, namely the senior pastor and other residents.
Year 1:
The aim of year one is gaining relational equity with Bridge City's congregation and growing deeply in character development, and to begin your theological training through an accredited program/university. This year will give a foundation in order to be as successful as possible in development. Strong relationships with the Church, growing in character (earning trust), and beginning to grow in theological depth and breadth. Immediate discipling will begin for the resident and those the resident will walk with.
Year 2:
The aim of year two is beginning to lead in ministry departments and preach and teach on Sunday mornings. Now that relationships have been established, character and trust is growing, and theological depth and breadth, the pulpit will be a place of growth. Residents will learn how to teach and preach in a Christ-centered expository way. Residents will launch and lead disciple groups, and add value to ministry departments as they lead teams and people.
Year 3:
The aim of year three is multiplying your ministry as we seek where your next steps are either internally or beyond Bridge City. We will develop a plan in year three that positions you to boldly and confidently step into what's next.
Next Steps
Click on "Apply to Position" to show your interest. After an initial screening we will then send you the following phases of the application:
  • Phase 1 - Apply (10-15 minutes questionnaire to collect more detailed employment information)
  • Phase 2 - Ministry Assessment (~60-minute questionnaire covering topics related to being a ministry worker)
    • Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be sent an email with a link to complete your Ministry Assessment.
  • Phase 3 - Local Assessment
    • The local supervisor(s) for this position will review your application, potentially reaching out to conduct an interview.

Upon provisional acceptance, you will register for support-raising training run by Reliant to start your support-based ministry journey.
