Job description

PASTOR OF STUDENT MINISTRIES // EAGLE BROOK CHURCH

JOB OBJECTIVES

  •          Delivers high-quality experiences for students at the campus
  •          Champions the development of leaders that are actively engaged in the lives of students that results in transformational relationships
  •           Actively recruits and develops volunteers with the goal of connecting and building relationships with students and equipping and engaging parents
  •          Invests in the personal and spiritual development of volunteers and students
  •          Provides pastoral care and direction for students, parents and other attendees at assigned campus

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Builds and leads teams of volunteers by identifying, recruiting, onboarding and overseeing training and scheduling
  • Encourages and challenges volunteer leaders in their individual spiritual formation and leadership, so they are prepared to disciple students and model a vibrant, authentic personal relationship with Jesus 
  • Promotes the value of groups by empowering and equipping small group leaders
  • Acts as the “Campus Pastor” for middle school and high school students by delivering Eagle Brook’s mid-week student programs with excellence 
  • Facilitates volunteer huddles, leader meetings, trainings and one-on-ones with key leaders 
  • Leads approximately three student trips each year 
  • Partners and collaborates with peers and central team to execute the centrally designed midweek programs  
  • Acts as primary spiritual leader for students and the families at their campus

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Actively participates on the campus team and helps foster a healthy and dynamic staff environment 
  • Performs pastoral functions (i.e., care visits, baptisms, weddings, funerals)   
  • Serves as a community connection between schools, local ministries and other key influencers in the community 
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Follower of Jesus and aligns with Eagle Brook Church's nine core beliefs
  •          Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (typically 4+ years)
  •          2+ years of experience building, leading, equipping and motivating leaders and teams of people  
  •          Proficient in MS Office Word, Zoom and Slack
  •          Exhibits biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership
  •          Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  •          Demonstrated ability to lead and coordinate ministry initiatives with measurable outcomes
  •          Strong organization and multitasking skills
  •          Detail-oriented
  •          Proven ability in team building – from recruitment to onboarding and training
  •          Effective public speaker
  •          Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Preferred Qualifications

  •          Seminary training or equivalent combination of education and experience (6+years)
  •         3+ years of active and relevant student ministry leadership experience 

JOB DETAILS

  • Starting Salary Range: $60,000 – $63,000

  • Work Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm (generally) with evening hours on Wednesdays
