Job description

Do you live and breathe Country music? Are you passionate about creating compelling radio that connects with listeners and keeps them coming back for more?
Connoisseur Media's 103.1 The Wolf (WWWF) is searching nationwide for a talented, dynamic, and creative On-Air Personality / Music Director to join our team on Long Island at New York City's Country station.
We're looking for someone who brings personality, authenticity, warmth, and energy to every break. The ideal candidate understands the power of great storytelling, knows how to create memorable moments, and can craft hooks and teases that keep listeners engaged. This person thrives both on-air and in the community, building meaningful connections with listeners, clients, artists, and partners.
In addition to on-air responsibilities, this role will serve as the station's Music Director, helping shape the sound of 103.1 The Wolf through music scheduling, industry relationships, and strategic collaboration with programming leadership. For the right candidate, this position offers a clear path to expanded leadership responsibilities and the opportunity to grow into an Assistant Program Director (APD) role.
If you're passionate about Country radio, have a strong understanding of the format, and are ready to compete and win in the nation's largest media market, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
On-Air & Content Creation
  • Host a compelling, entertaining, and listener-focused on-air show that reflects the station's brand and personality.
  • Create topical, engaging, and relatable content that resonates with Country music fans.
  • Develop strong hooks, teases, and storytelling moments that drive listening occasions.
  • Interact with listeners through phone calls, contests, social media, and station events.
  • Produce creative digital, social, and video content that extends the station's brand beyond the airwaves.
  • Voice-track shifts as needed and contribute content across multiple platforms.
Music Director Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain music scheduling and reporting functions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with record labels, artist representatives, promoters, and industry partners.
  • Evaluate new music and provide strategic recommendations to programming leadership.
  • Coordinate artist visits, interviews, and promotional opportunities.
  • Attend industry events and stay informed on Country music trends and audience preferences.
  • Collaborate with programming leadership to help shape the station's music strategy and sound.
Community & Station Engagement
  • Represent 103.1 The Wolf at station appearances, remotes, concerts, community events, and client functions.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador for the station throughout Long Island and the New York market.
  • Build relationships with listeners, advertisers, community organizations, and business partners.
  • Participate in promotions, sponsorship activations, and special programming initiatives.
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Work closely with programming, promotions, sales, and digital teams to maximize audience engagement and revenue opportunities.
  • Assist with coaching, content development, and programming initiatives as assigned.
  • Take on additional programming responsibilities with the potential for advancement into an Assistant Program Director role.
What We're Looking For
  • Prior on-air radio experience required, preferably in the Country format.
  • Music Director experience strongly preferred.
  • Passion for Country music and deep knowledge of the format, artists, and industry trends.
  • Strong relationships within the Country music community, including artists, management, labels, and promoters.
  • Exceptional communication skills both on-air and in person.
  • Proven ability to create compelling, listener-focused content with a strong local connection.
  • Strong social media presence and ability to create engaging digital content.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of FCC regulations and broadcast compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Adobe Audition, VoxPro, RCS Zetta, Selector, MusicMaster, or similar broadcast systems preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable, insured transportation.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and promotional events as needed.

Benefits:
Connoisseur invests in people who invest in themselves and offers employees a competitive package of health and welfare benefits.
  • Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, and Vision. Supplement Life Insurance, AD&D Coverage, STD, and LTD coverage.
  • Paid Time Off: 17 PTO days and 10 company holidays.
