Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 4 years of experience in an analytical role, such as management consulting, investment banking, strategy & operations, business analytics, or other equivalent roles
  • Experience driving cross-functional programs or projects
  • Experience with SQL, spreadsheets, data visualization, and other data analytics tools

Preferred qualifications:
  • 6 years of experience in an analytically-intensive role, such as management consulting, investment banking, strategy & operations, business analytics, or other equivalent roles
  • Experience in consumer internet, media, or online video industries (especially with subscriptions-based platforms)
  • Experience with ML growth platforms, digital marketing, A/B testing and experimentation methodologies

YouTube's Growth Platform ("Nitrate") delivers billions of in-app messages to users everyday to drive product discovery and growth. It's a critical growth channel that leverages ML-based recommendations to promote YouTube paid subscriptions, highlight product features, and drive watchtime across various content segments (e.g., cultural moments, live sports, new music releases, etc.).
As the Product Strategy and Operations (PS&O) Lead for Nitrate, you will play a critical role in scaling its impact across YouTube. PS&O sits at the intersection of strategy and execution, contributing to some of the highest profile work at YouTube. Your work will generally span across 3 areas: defining and measuring product health, conducting deeper analysis to inform actions to take, and shaping the longer-term vision and product strategy.
You'll be embedded within the Nitrate team, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Marketing, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with data science to execute analyses to identify headroom for growth, diagnose optimization opportunities (e.g., funnel drop-off), and shape Nitrate's strategy & roadmap.
  • Gather input from client teams and external best practices to further inform growth levers to pursue (e.g., onboarding improvements, use case/channel expansion, etc.).
  • Support foundational processes that drive the platform (e.g., maintaining LTV inputs, establishing platform principles & guardrails, etc.) and Leverage AI tools to automate and enhance core workflows.
