The Hermosa Beach City School District is nestled in a beautiful beach city just 7 miles south of the LAX airport. HBCSD is currently comprised of three school sites, Hermosa View, Hermosa Vista, and Hermosa Valley School. We are a TK through 8th grade school district with a friendly staff, an involved parent community, and high expectations.

Job Summary
This part-time position preps food to serve students, preps salad bar, and cleans up after lunch service. 4 hours per day.

Food Service Aide
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the business manager and principal. Under supervision to manage and operate a receiving kitchen facility in a school and to do related work as required.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:
1. Receives meals delivered from vendor and verifies accuracy in amounts.
2. Cooks food requiring cooking and insures uncooked food is at proper temperature for serving.
3. Serves lunches to students.
4. Cleans and maintains equipment, counters, sinks, etc.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of:
Procedures used in serving of food
Health and sanitation requirements
Ability to:
Effectively serve student meals in allotted amount of time
Work cooperatively with those contacted in the course of work
Valid Food Handlers Certificate or ability to obtain and retain once hired
