Are you a Psych RN looking to do your best work in Grand Rapids, MI? If so, Impact Health Staffing is here to help! We are working with a non-profit organization that is in need of a compassionate Full-Time Psych RNs in Grand Rapids, MI!

Position & Compensation Details

  • Position: Psych RN- Full Time

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Hours: 36/ wk (3x12)

  • Salary: $54k-$74k

  • Sign on Bonus: $8k-$12k

If this role is for you, you would be responsible for:

  • Assessing patients' care needs, developing a plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassessing the plan of care according to patients' care needs.

  • Collaborating with the physician, providing/coordinating nursing care to individuals and groups of patients served.
  • Assisting in the teaching of patients' families and providing milieu management. Communicating with and educating patients' families/significant others in discharge/aftercare planning needs.
  • Providing a safe and secure environment for patients served and staff in both individual and group settings.
  • Documenting, reporting, and verifying all necessary information according to established policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring for and reporting to the physician(s) any potential risk to patients' safety that could lead to an adverse outcome.
  • Creating a customer/client-friendly environment by following quality improvement standards, maintaining professionalism, initiating and maintaining positive relationships with departments/programs, co-workers, and external customers.
  • Providing care in various clinical settings with diverse patients' served populations. Identifying specific patients' needs and implementing patient-centered, compassionate care.
  • Functioning as a clinical leader, delegating/coordinating staff assignments, and promoting staff development.
  • Utilizing and continually reviewing patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care. Giving input into the process for improvement.
  • Training direct care staff (if applicable).
  • Indirectly overseeing medication and physical health activities in a program (if applicable).
  • Scheduling, staffing, and obtaining pre-authorizations (if applicable).
  • Role modeling the mission and values of the organization, presenting a professional image that is projected in appearance, attitudes, and behaviors, time management, and communication skills. Providing spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients.
  • Supporting and promoting a recovery-focused environment and person-centered approach within the program in the community residential setting.
  • Demonstrating commitment to the Hospital and Residential Services Model of Care in hospital and residential areas.
  • Maintaining annual training and demonstrating competency in the required programmatic training.

Qualifications and Education Required for the Psych RN:

  • 1+ year of Psych RN experience preferred, but not required; New Grads are welcome to apply!

  • Satisfactory completion of clinicals for New Grad RNs required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred

  • Unencumbered MI RN license required

  • BLS required
