Description
American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring TNCC, ACLS, PALS, and a minimum of 2 years of ER experience with night shift availability.
Details
- Works in a Level I Trauma Center, Stroke Center, Heart Center, and Pediatric Emergency Department
- Patient ratios are typically 1:5-6 but may reach up to 1:8 during high volume periods or holidays
- Floating to the Pediatric ED is possible
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Three weekends (Fri–Sun) per 4-week schedule required; may be scheduled for 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR is used; training provided during orientation
Requirements
- Active MI RN license required (compact licenses not accepted; MI license must be active by contract start date)
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA preferred), ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale — all must be active by start date, no pending certifications accepted
- ENPC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Copies of all certifications required for consideration
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- All RTO must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO will be approved after submission, and no RTO is permitted during the month of July
- Maximum of 5 days RTO per assignment
- Candidates who previously worked at the facility as core staff must wait 12 months before returning and should be verified through HR prior to applying
- Orientation includes training on Epic EMR
- Pre-start modules are required and completed prior to the first day; module types may vary by specialty
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration is preferred
- Triage experience is preferred
