RN RESIDENCY PROGRAM DETAILS:
EvergreenHealth's Residency Program consists of group practicums and lectures that support the graduate RN to mitigate the education-to-industry gap. We foster growth in the clinical, professional, and transitional aspects of professional nursing practice. The Residency program incorporates collaborative team support by managers, preceptors and clinical nurse educators.  
RN Residents are required to have an active Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license and a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS card by start date of October 26, 2026. Must be able to start program on October 26, 2026.  
To receive consideration for this RN Resident program, please submit an application to include a comprehensive resume (that includes rotation and practicum information) and a one-page cover letter that describes your interest in the Family Maternity Center (FMC), specifically labor and includes the personal and professional attributes you would bring to this program and unit. Interviews will likely be held the second week of June 2026 with chosen applicants contacted in early June. This position will be accepting applications until June 5, 2026.

Primary Duties:
  1. Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate.
  2. Assesses the comprehensive nursing needs of an assigned group of patients.
  3. Coordinates the patient and family/significant other education process.
  4. Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family/significant other into the process.
  5. Participates with physician partners and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement patient and family/significant other plan of care.
  6. Communicates effectively all relevant information (e.g., patient information, safety issues, problems with equipment, quality issues, etc.) to immediate supervisor, in timely way.
  7. Communicates and documents changes in patient condition, on a timely basis, to charge nurse/supervisor and physician.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience: 
REQUIRED for the position:  
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington by October 26, 2026  
  • Graduate of a nursing program (Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required)
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification by October 26, 2026 
  • NRP certification by the end of residency
  • Able to start on October 26, 2026
