Job description

Neurology MOB Clinic Registered Nurse

St. Luke's Health System in Meridian is seeking a Full-Time RN to join our Neurology MOB Clinic team.

The Meridian Neurology MOB Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse to work with patients with neurological diseases in a fast paced, busy clinic who can foster a supportive and compassionate environment. The RN will be work closely with a neurology provider/nurse practitioner by managing outpatient patient care needs.

The RN will be responsible for performing routine procedures (rooming, vital signs, charting, medication assistance, etc.), appropriately triaging patient calls and messages, following up on test results, managing prescription refills as directed by the neurology provider. The RN will play a key role in providing education to patients and family members for ongoing healthcare needs as well as assist the provider as needed. The clinic nurse will also serve as a clinical resource and professional role model for other clinical staff.

Monday - Friday, day hours - 8 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
  • Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
  • Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
  • Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
  • Manages care of patients.
  • Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
  • Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
  • Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's of Nursing Degree
  • RN's with less than 1 year of RN experience at the time of hire into the RN position must have graduated from an accredited nursing program (ACEN - Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing, CCNE-Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education)
  • Experience: 0 years' experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Current RN licensure from the State of Practice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Neuro ICU or outpatient clinic setting is ideal.
