Neurodiversity Dialectical Behavior Therapy is on the lookout for a dedicated and fully licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team. • Conduct thorough assessments of each client’s substance abuse history, mental health status, and individualized treatment needs during initial consultations, utilizing standardized screening tools.
• Design and implement personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based practices tailored to both addiction and any co-occurring mental health conditions.
• Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, employing techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) to enhance client engagement and recovery progress.
• Facilitate collaboration with a multidisciplinary treatment team, including physicians, nurses, and case managers, to provide integrated, comprehensive care focused on improving client outcomes.
• Educate and support clients' families, creating resources to help them understand the recovery process and their role in it.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of client interactions and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA and ethical guidelines, ensuring accurate documentation for ongoing clinical review.

This position focuses on individuals grappling with substance use disorders and the complexities associated with addiction recovery. Counselors will engage with a diverse array of clients, including those with dual diagnoses that may complicate their treatment. The Mental Health Counselor is integral in building rapport and providing tailored interventions that empower clients to overcome their challenges.

• A current and valid license as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) is mandatory.
• A Master’s degree or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field is required.
• Experience in addiction counseling coupled with specialized training in substance abuse treatment methodologies is highly desirable.
• A well-rounded understanding of evidence-based practices addressing both substance use and co-occurring mental health issues.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of establishing rapport with clients and motivating them to engage actively in their recovery journey.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to ensure successful collaboration with the entire treatment team.

• Prior experience in a substance abuse treatment setting is preferred, demonstrating the ability to navigate the unique challenges in addiction recovery.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to streamline documentation and client management processes.
• Continuous engagement in professional development, such as attending workshops or obtaining additional certifications relevant to substance abuse treatment.
