Description
The Technical Architect will develop, implement, and support network services and solutions for consulting clients while mentoring and sharing skills with others. This position will build a customer-focused relationship with client to identify business challenges and develop specifications and requirements to arrive at the best solution.
Roles and Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
  • Play an active role by collaborating with Practice Leads to create and maintain documents and procedures.
  • Execute, with Project Managers and Practice Leads, on large projects on time and on budget.
  • Provide active leadership and articulate to the Project Management Team what is needed for success and lead the other Engineers to ensure tasks are being completed accurately and timely.
  • Be the Lead Engineer on projects that have multiple different technologies.
  • In collaboration with the Project Management Team Members, if applicable, provide daily updates on all projects and be proactive with communication to all parties on timelines, hours, resources, concerns, etc.
  • Proactively execute collaboration between different business units to provide a world class experience for the customer.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills and take a leadership role in Team and customer meetings.
  • Contribute to product selection and research, configuration standards and best practices and educate our sales teams on these products and services so that they can sell them.
  • Work in a team atmosphere between regional and virtual practices, while at all times maintaining a professional and respectful demeanor.
  • Maintain current vendor/industry specific certifications and stay current on new products and solutions.
  • Continue to grow personally along the guidelines of the Engineering skills matrix, improving your skill set around project experience, leadership, certifications and technical expertise.
  • Meet annual billable hour goal, as defined by HBS. This number may change over time as the business evolves.

Required Experience:
  • 5+ years in a technical related field

Preferred Experience:
  • 6-8 years in a technical related field
  • 4+ years' experience working as a Consultant

Required Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent certifications
  • At least two or more Professional level certifications
  • CCNP, CCP-V, VCAP-DCV, MCA
  • Experience designing and architecting network based solutions
  • Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products
  • IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS Experience/Best Practices
  • Routing Protocols-OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2 / L3 Architecture and Design Multicast, QoS

Preferred Skills, Education and/ or Certifications:
  • CCNP, CCDP, CCIE, ACMP, ACCP, ACCX, ACEAP, MCE or equivalent level certifications
  • Installing and supporting Cisco or HP/Aruba network switching and routing products
  • IOS, IOS-XR, NX-OS Experience/Best Practices
  • Cisco Nexus technologies such as VDC, vPC, VXLAN, etc.
  • Routing Protocols-OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, L2 / L3 Architecture and Design Multicast, QoS
  • Cisco based ISR-based VPN solutions such as FLEX-VPN, GET-VPN, or DMVPN.
  • Data Center / Core design, configuration, and implementation utilizing Cisco Nexus Architecture (9K, 7K, 6K, 5K, 3K, 2K, 1000V).
  • Software Defined Networking (SDA, SD-WAN)
  • Cisco/Meraki/Aruba Wireless
  • Controller or autonomous based
  • Design using Ekahau or similar product
  • High Density/Manufacturing/Office/Education
  • Familiarity or experience with:
  • Meraki (Wireless, Security Products, Switches, SDWAN)
  • Citrix NetScaler ADC/SDWAN deployment a plus
  • Network security appliances Including Cisco ASA/FTD, Palo Alto firewalls and related technology
  • Additional core technologies such as: Riverbed, OpenDNS, Infoblox, Cisco Optical, NetBrain, FireEye, SolarWinds, SPLUNK?
