Description
ActioNet has an opportunity for a Network Engineer requiring a Secret clearance located in San Diego County, CA. ActioNet is an IT service provider and solutions integrator headquartered in Vienna, VA that works with the Federal Government and Department of Defense.
TARGET SALARY $125,000.00
As the Network Engineer, your tasks will include:
  • Plan for new initiatives and expand the existing network infrastructure. Understand the diversity of the network and innovate our ability to modernize the network in a secure fashion.
  • Provide solutions based on issues like traffic congestion, infrastructure upgrades, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Development documentation and how to guides on networks incorporating various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems.
  • Deploy, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network hardware or virtual network infrastructure such as routers, switches, and network monitoring devices typically employed by the Fleet Marine Force.
  • Integrate multiple network transport systems (USMC C4) to support wide-area network connectivity (e.g., satellite, radio frequency, troposcatter and other line-of-sight capabilities) as well as tactical landlines (e.g., tactical fiber optic cabling).
  • Document solutions/blueprints/diagrams for any network-related issues, break through innovations or cutting-edge workarounds for current fielded programs and future programs or experiments.
  • Install hardware or software as required, create backups for all systems, and monitor system performance.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot the virtual infrastructure environments and network administrator workstations.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, update, and troubleshoot Network Services, (Domain Controllers, DNS, Mail/Exchange, etc.).
  • Design, deploy, and maintain Wi-Fi networks and other wireless technologies in support of tactical deployments.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Advanced network training and 4 years of demonstrated network engineering experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DOD IAT Level 2 security certification
  • Demonstrated experience with TCP/IP analysis and troubleshooting with a packet analyzer.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate
  • Experience with System Administration with MS Windows or Linux
  • Experience with VMware Virtualization technologies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certified in Wireshark Certified Network Analyst or RCPE Professional Packet Analyzer Plus
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional or Cisco Certified Design Professional (Route/Switch)
  • VMware Certified Associate or Specialty
  • Certification in a Network Operating System (ex: MS Windows Server, Linux, etc.)
  • SolarWinds Server and Application Monitor (SAM) Certified Professional
  • Experience or training with a Scripting Language (ex: Perl, PowerShell, Linux Shell, etc.)
  • Experience with Department of Defense tactical Wide Area Networks (WAN) utilizing tactical Radio Frequency and Satellite transmission systems.
  • Experience with Instrumentation, Collection and Data Management of In-Band/Out-of-Band networks for data collection & analysis services.
  • Experience with design and implementation of Modeling and Simulation test tools.
