Network Technician - Candidates Local to MN 

Location: Minneapolis–Saint Paul Metro Area, MN (Onsite)

Job Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Network Technician to support network infrastructure installations, hardware deployments, and connectivity initiatives across multiple locations within the metro area. This role requires onsite work and collaboration with Network and Systems Engineering teams to ensure successful installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, replace, and support physical network switches, ports, and related infrastructure equipment.
  • Assist System Engineers in diagnosing and resolving network connectivity issues.
  • Support wireless connectivity, low-voltage power systems, and multimedia network environments.
  • Perform hardware transportation, staging, deployment, and installation activities.
  • Document completed work using photographs, notes, and tracking spreadsheets.
  • Verify proper installation and placement of network equipment and infrastructure components.
  • Communicate installation challenges, project updates, and technical issues to engineering teams.
  • Assist with infrastructure layout planning and deployment activities.
  • Support network hardware inventory, delivery, and equipment tracking processes.
  • Ensure adherence to installation standards, safety procedures, and project requirements.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities and support other network team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED with 4+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • Associate Degree, Technical School Certification, or higher education with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure installations and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts including switches, ports, wireless connectivity, and network hardware.
  • Ability to travel between multiple work locations within the metro area.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to work onsite.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cisco Certification (CCNA or equivalent preferred).
  • Azure Certification.
  • Experience with SolarWinds monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of low-voltage power systems and multimedia connectivity.
  • Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, and floor plans.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.
