Job description

AMSOIL is currently seeking a Network Administrator position at out Aerospace facility in Columbus, Ohio.
The Network Administrator is responsible for ensuring the stable and efficient operation of AMSOIL's networks, systems, and telephony infrastructure. This role spans three core disciplines-Network Systems Administration, OS Systems Administration, and Telephony-and involves planning, developing, installing, configuring, testing, documenting, maintaining, and optimizing system performance. The Network Administrator also provides timely resolution of end-user hardware and software issues, supports system upgrades, and contributes to infrastructure projects that drive business success.
In this role, you will analyze complex technical challenges, develop and recommend effective solutions, and apply expert-level knowledge to support business objectives. You will interpret and implement policies and procedures, participate in resource planning, and manage project execution while tracking progress against goals. Working under general direction, you will also contribute to the development of new processes, evaluate emerging technologies for business impact, and build advanced cross-functional expertise across related disciplines.
Examples of Work Performed / Essential Functions:
Network Systems Administration:
  • Perform network design and capacity planning; develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration.
  • Configure, deploy and manage network infrastructure components to include, but not limited to, switches, routers, IPS, VPN, ASA devices, anti-virus/malware services, and UCS w/ associated devices.
  • Design, configure, and maintain AD policies.

OS Systems Administration:
  • Design, configure, and manage Microsoft Windows Server (including Terminal Server and Exchange) and ESXi environments.
  • Configure and manage back-up solutions.
  • Manage and maintain AMSOIL SAN systems (HP, Nimble, and 3rd party solutions).

Telephony Administrator:
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the corporate phone system.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain the corporate call recording system.
  • Manage and maintain analog telephone systems.

All Disciplines:
  • Support the AMSOIL Helpdesk in a Level 3 / Level 4 capacity.
  • Collaborate and cross-train within the Systems Administration group.
  • Collaborate with Applications Services and Internet Services groups on projects as appropriate.

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Conduct periodic software and hardware audits as directed.
  • Evaluate new equipment and software for adoption as appropriate.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor in order to meet the needs of the organization.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in related field preferred such as Computer Science.
  • 5-8 years of related experience within a specific discipline.
  • Demonstrates good working knowledge of the business.
  • Has the ability to utilize systems tools to achieve business results while being a productive member of the department.

Certificates/Licenses Required:
  • Discipline specific certification(s).

Knowledge, skills and Abilities Required:
  • Working technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems.
  • Working technical knowledge of current systems software, hardware, protocols and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of local area network administration.
  • Hands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience with data management.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Proven experience in the design, development and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems or products.
  • Project management skills desired.
  • Analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Logical and efficient.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
