About the role

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure with a strong focus on Arista switching, spine‑leaf architecture, Arista CloudVision, Palo Alto firewalls, and Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager.

This role serves as a senior technical resource for network operations, project delivery, security policy implementation, troubleshooting, and network architecture improvements. The Senior Network Engineer is expected to lead complex technical initiatives, mentor junior engineers, create standards, and provide escalation support during major incidents and changes.

Location: This position is located at our Dublin, OH campus with hybrid flexibility.

What you’ll do (Essential Responsibilities)
  • Design, configure, and support enterprise switching environments using Arista EOS.
  • Support and enhance spine‑leaf data center architecture, including leaf/spine connectivity, MLAG, VLANs, VRFs, routing, high availability, and segmentation.
  • Manage network infrastructure using Arista CloudVision, including compliance, configuration management, software upgrades, telemetry, provisioning, and change validation.
  • Lead troubleshooting for complex Layer 2, Layer 3, firewall, VPN, application, and routing issues.
  • Configure and support Palo Alto firewalls, including security policy, NAT, App‑ID, User‑ID, URL filtering, threat prevention, GlobalProtect, IPsec VPN, and logging.
  • Manage firewall configuration and policy through Palo Alto Strata Cloud Manager.
  • Review, create, and optimize firewall rules to improve security, performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Support routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, static routing, route maps, prefix lists, redistribution, and failover designs.
  • Assist with network segmentation, firewall migrations, data center migrations, circuit turn‑ups, and cloud connectivity projects.
  • Provide advanced escalation support for network incidents, outages, performance issues, and security events.
  • Develop and maintain network standards, diagrams, implementation plans, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Lead change management efforts, including risk analysis, implementation steps, validation plans, and backout procedures.
  • Partner with security, systems, cloud, application, service desk, and vendor teams to resolve issues and deliver projects.
  • Mentor Network Engineers and Network Administrators by providing technical guidance, documentation review, and troubleshooting support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve network reliability, visibility, security, automation, and operational maturity.

What you’ll bring (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands‑on network engineering experience preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience supporting enterprise firewall and data center network environments preferred.
  • Design, configure, and support enterprise switching environments using Arista EOS.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with VXLAN/EVPN in an Arista environment.
  • Experience with Prisma Access, GlobalProtect, or cloud‑delivered security platforms.
  • Experience with network automation using Python, Ansible, APIs, or CloudVision workflows.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as CloudVision, LibreNMS, Grafana, PRTG, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data center migrations, firewall migrations, hardware refreshes, and circuit migrations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, SAML, certificates, and identity‑based access.
  • Experience with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira.
  • Industry certifications such as Palo Alto PCNSE, Palo Alto PCNSA, Arista ACE, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, CCIE, Network+, or Security+.
  • Experience in healthcare, financial, retail, enterprise campus, or large data center environments is a plus.
